Join Our Team as a Port Supervisor in Liverpool!
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Vessel Supervisor to oversee vessel discharge. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with leadership skills and a strong background in port operations. As a Vessel Supervisor, you'll be responsible for ensuring the smooth, safe, and efficient movement of goods and cargo while managing a team of operatives.
Location: Liverpool
Salary: £16.12-£25.86
Shift Pattern: 07:00-19:00/19:00-07:00
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: Full-time
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise day-to-day operations within the port, ensuring the safe and efficient handling of cargo.
- Manage a team of port operatives and ensure they follow all safety and operational guidelines.
- Monitor and coordinate the movement of ships, cargo, and equipment to ensure timely operations.
- Ensure that cargo is loaded, unloaded, and stored according to safety and quality standards..
- Conduct regular inspections and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Assist with scheduling and planning of shifts to ensure full coverage during busy periods.
- Provide leadership and training to the team to promote continuous improvement and skill development.
- Prepare reports on operational performance, safety incidents, and any issues that arise.

The Successful Candidate:
- Previous experience working in port operations is essential, with a solid understanding of cargo handling, shipping, and safety protocols.
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience is required, with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
- A thorough understanding of health and safety regulations in a port or industrial setting.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing circumstances.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Willingness to work flexible hours to meet the operational needs of the port.
