Protocol have an exciting opportunity working for a college based in South Yorkshire who's looking to recruit a Workplace Skills Coach within Mechanical (engineering) and Electrical (maintenance).
The college are the largest single provider of education to school leavers in an area bridging South Yorkshire and North Nottinghamshire. They deliver excellent technical training and Apprenticeships for young people each year, propelling them forward to employment or undergraduate courses, taking an active role in supporting the local business community to thrive and succeed.
The skills coach will be a subject matter specialist and will be required to visit each apprentice once every quarter for the duration of their programme. They will also be required to have regular ongoing contact with all learners & employers and to complete all the relevant paperwork and update all records relating to learner progress. This job will involve travelling, as apprentices must be visited at their place of employment.
This is a full time (37 hours per week), permanent position!
The person & qualifications
Have experience in Mechanical Engineering/Electrical Maintenance
Be a confident assessor who can engage with a wide variety of learners and employers bring the subject matter to life in a creative and engaging way.
Hold a relevant trade NVQ Level 3 qualification (or equivalent)
Hold A1/V1 Assessors Award (or equivalent)
Have experience working with e-portfolios and delivering apprenticeship standards
