We're looking for a Works Manager to join our Natural Resources team for our Yorkshire Water and Severn Trent contracts. Based from our Sheffield office but working from home and site, you can enjoy knowing that you not only help manage projects that are beneficial for our employees but for the community.



Location: remote working available, with travel to sites required and office ad hoc. Sites are in Worksop, Rainworth, Pye Bridge and Whitwell.



Contract: Permanent, Full Time - flexible and part-time hours may be available if desired, just let us know



Responsibilities



As a Works Manager, you'll be working within the Natural Resources team working on capital project schemes between £5m-£15m in value on both clean and dirty water treatment plants. The work is part of upgrade and resilience works essential for the treatment works to service the increased population. The Works Manager will manage all contracted construction activities throughout the lifecycle of the project through to commissioning. You'll also manage and be responsible for management of sub-contractors and the weekly reporting on programme and cost.



Your day to day will include:



  • Assisting with the scope and objectives of the project and ensure construction operations are in accordance with the project requirements
  • Controlling the project schedule to ensure timely completion and stop any work if it is deemed unsafe to continue
  • Ensuring labour resources are utilised within the project where required and maintain records of daily site activities to monitor and track project progress


  • What are we looking for?


    This role of Works Manager is great for you if you have:



  • Experience in the water industry, along with a degree/HNC or NVQ Level 2 in Civil Engineering, or equivalent
  • Previous Civil Engineering, Mechanical or electrical experience and demonstrable knowledge and application of Site Construction activities
  • Good knowledge of specifications and testing regimes relevant to general civil engineering
  • Prior experience of managing site teams, subcontractors, and operative staff
