Responsibilities
As Works Manager you'll be working within the reactive team, supporting them in project management and delivery of specific schemes/projects relating to the capital works programme for Suffolk Highways.
Your day to day will include
- Project managing schemes to ensure tasks relating to delivering design and construction quality, timeliness, risk and commercial are completed in accordance with Suffolk Highways processes and procedures
- Take ownership of schemes related to drainage, structures, road surface treatment, footway improvements, local highways budget and minor works
- Assist the Planned Works Manager and work closely with other Suffolk Highways business functions, to achieve the successful delivery of the annual contractor's plan & programme
This role of Works Manager is great for you if you can:
- Show operational experience in the delivery of highways schemes including coordination of service providers and demonstrate detailed knowledge of project management in an engineering or operational environment
- Understand the application of highway standards and procedures
- Put forward awareness of legislation relevant to highways works (particularly New Roads and Street Works Act)
