Our client is a leading provider of expert services in the O&M marketplace with a reputation they are proud of. The business is run in a responsible, transparent and ethical way where safety dominates everything they do.

Reporting into the Head of Operation and Maintenance (O&M) Service Delivery you will be based primarily on solar farm sites and drawing on internal and external resources, you will be responsible for planning and implementing both larger remedial maintenance work, post Final Acceptance Certificate (FAC) in the project life span and performance improvements across their solar farm sites.

These improvements will optimise the benefits for our clients and will be carried out to the highest health and safety guidance and in line with agreed budget and timelines.

Duties:

  • Work with the Asset Control team and Technical Services team in developing proposals for additional services. In particular taking the lead on costing the proposed work where requested
  • Project manage the development, review, formal issuing, approval (internal and external) and dissemination of the pre-requisite design, test and commissioning documentation, that defines the specification of the works to be installed, in line with the Information Management System procedures;
  • Project manage the development, review and formal issuing and approval of the final as-built documentation, test and commissioning records and other documentation necessary to update the relevant O&M manual, in line with the IMS procedures;
  • Plan, deliver, co-ordinate, supervise and administer all maintenance remedial services and upgrade work packages that lie outside of the original O&M contract scope on solar farms across the O&M portfolio:

o Plan the implementation of remedial work/upgrade work once approved, working with the Operations Officers to coordinate this with other site work and with Asset Controllers to ensure the client is aware;

o Arrange and co-ordinate maintenance equipment, parts, suppliers and internal staff for all additional services;

o Administer contracts administration for additional works packages in collaboration with the Asset Controllers, Clients and Operations Officers;

o Coordinate and supervise the work of both staff and contractors on these projects, and ensure the work is delivered to a satisfactory quality level, on time and budget, and in compliance with all regulations and with H&S and risk management procedures;

  • Intra and inter team communications and situational awareness where works may affect the day to day of site activities;
  • Pick up on trends with regards to issues and put forward proposals about remedial work/upgrade work to the O&M management team;
  • Support and advise Reginal Operations Managers and Ops Officers as and when required;
  • Support the ongoing development, trial, roll out and adoption of PowerApps;
  • Collate and provide documentation to O&M team members;
  • Membership of the O&M on-call duty rota;

What we are looking for:

  • An experienced solar (or M&E) work package manager or site manager or project manager
  • SMSTS H&S qualified
  • Trade qualified (probably an electrician)
  • Commissioning experience
  • Man-management skills
  • Previous experience of working with budgets and contracts
  • Flexibility and ability to travel
