Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Yard Team - Supervise and Train Labourers and all workshop staff.
  • Make sure the Workshop and Site is safe at all times.
  • Manage stock spreadsheet.
  • Organise paperwork within the workshop and Manage incoming and outgoing customer orders.
  • Overseeing all site projects and ensuring that they have materials on site as and when required.
  • When necessary, manage the relationship between site operatives and Yard Manager.
  • Operate woodwork machinery.
  • Manage all deliveries in and out of the yard.
  • Check that the deliveries are FSC / PEFC compliant (where applicable) and record for audit.
  • Make deliveries as required, Small lorry.
  • Ensure that all daily checks are done on the Lorry.
  • Take Lorry for quarterly servicing, maintenance checks and MOT.
  • Maintain first aid boxes for Workshop, Lorry and Site.
  • Ensuring that all PAT Testing is up to date.
  • Some projects require working off architectural drawings, so the ability to read and understand paperwork is important.

Attributes:

  • Own Car and Driving Licence preferable
  • Basic computer skills necessary
  • Previous experience working with timber would be beneficial.
  • Competent in using workshop machinery equipment.
  • Good DIY skills including carpentry.
  • Forklift licence would be good but not essential.
