Breedon is a leading construction materials group in the UK and Ireland. They operate two cement plants, around 80 quarries, 40 asphalt plants, 170 ready-mixed concrete and mortar plants, nine concrete and clay products plants, four contract surfacing businesses, six import/export terminals and two slate production facilities.

The Group is currently seeking an Assistant Production Manager in the Greater Manchester area.

The successful candidate will provide support to the Production Manager in all aspects of manufacturing and production. You will also be responsible for all aspects of health and safety, quality, material management, concrete production and dispatch. When required, you may need to operate a 4 wheeled loading shovel.

The role will also require you to assist the Production Manager with tasks such as:

  • Raising of order numbers
  • Maintaining plant documentation in accordance with standards and permit conditions
  • Delivering toolbox talks
  • Attending audits by external acquisition bodies
  • Other administrative duties as required

Industry experience is essential and it is desirable that you have a working knowledge of regulatory requirements. A full driving licence is also essential for this role. The role will offer development opportunities in line with a management role.
