Fire Safety Consultant Job in London / Remote Working
Fire Safety Consultant job in London / Remote Working, for a growing fire engineering team. You will be joining a reputable multidisciplinary consultancy within one of their fastest-growing departments. The role offers a salary of between £55,000 - £65,000 + Travel + Discretionary bonus + Remote Working.
The consultancy offers a multitude of services including project management, surveying, cost consultancy, and design management, and fire safety/fire engineering working with Housing Associations, Local Authorities and Private Developers clients on existing and new build schemes; with plans to expand into other public sectors. Made up of 110 employees and 4 offices, they are continuing to grow with a strong pipeline of work across London, South East and across England. You will be joining an existing team made of Chartered Fire Engineers and Fire Safety Consultants reporting directly to a Senior Fire Engineer, offering further scope for progression as the team grows.
Role & Responsibilities
- Liaise closely with Clients, Contractors, Developers, Clerk of Works and other key stakeholders - -- Assist the client in RAG assessing their stock to understand their potential liabilities
- Review Fire Safety Strategies and advise clients
- Assist with Fire Risk Assessments Type 1-4 both internally and externally in line with current industry guidance and regulations
- Detailed Report writing for FRAs Type 1-4
- Work with the project team to produce cost-effective and remedial solutions for clients
- Peer review the contractors proposals
- Liaise closely with the clerk of works and the contractor and carry out compliance checks of the works as they progress
- Attend site progress meetings.
Required Skills & Experience
- Ideally 4+ years in fire engineering/fire safety consultancy
- Working towards either MIFIREE, CEng or MIFSM, CBuildE, MCABE
- Experienced in retrospective fire strategies
- Experienced in Type 1-4 FRAs
- Experienced in cladding refurb projects
- UK Fire Code knowledge and experience is essential
- Ability to travel across London and South East and sometimes further afield across England (1 day+ in the office per month).
