Protocol are proud to be working with a leading end-point assessment organisation to recruit for a Lead End Point Assessor specialising in Rail Engineering Operative. This is an excellent opportunity to earn additional income alongside your current role, as well as further your skills within education. As a lead end point assessor you will be tasked with monitoring and supporting a team of EPAs ensuring their is a standardised approach to quality assurance. The role will be home-based initially remote, but may require nationwide travel which will be expensed.

We are looking for candidates with recent up-to-date, relevant experience of rail engineering with knowledge in; Track, Traction & Rolling Stock (T&RS), Electrification, Overhead Lines, Signaling, Telecoms.

As part of the application process we will need an up to date CV as well as a CPD log which clearly shows occupational competency.





Essential Qualifications and Experience

Recent occupational experience in the Rail Engineering sector from the past 12 months
IQA qualification
An assessor's qualification (ie: CAVA, A1, D32/33)
Essential Skills and Abilities

The assessor must be someone who has nothing to gain from the outcome of the assessment and must not have been involved in the training and/or line management of the apprentice
Evidence of regularly updated continuing professional development (CPD) to demonstrate practical experience and updated occupational expertise. This will cover updated knowledge and skills, changes to legislation and consider the latest developments in the sector
Excellent understanding of the standard(s) for the new apprenticeship frameworks, including specific knowledge in the industry area for the standard
Understanding of regulators' requirements: Ofqual, SFA, industry bodies

Desirable Skills & Abilities
Flexibility to travel across the UK
Willingness to agree to overnight stays away from home, if required
Hold a recognised current workplace assessment qualification
Hold an IQA or IV award
