ROLE: Maintenance Assistant
LOCATION: Ware, Hertford
PAY: £9.06 - £9.46 per hour + statutory holiday pay


HRG is working on behalf of an established Further Education College within the Hertfordshire area and is looking for an experienced Maintenance Assistant to join the Estates department.

The Role -

The Maintenance Assistant is a member of the team which provides a full range of estates and security services to the College. The Maintenance Assistant will support the Senior Maintenance Technician and Maintenance Technician in providing an efficient and effective service to all college users.

* Provide support to the Senior Maintenance Technician to deliver an efficient and cost effective estates service for the College and linked outreach centres.
* Carry out the planned and reactive maintenance tasks that are noted, allocated directly and via the Estates Helpdesk.
* Ensure the College buildings are opened, checked and left ready for use first thing in the morning.
* Operate the building maintenance system so that temperature within the buildings is kept at an appropriate level throughout the year. Rectify any issues where possible and if necessary call in contractors to resolve the issues.



The Ideal Candidate will-
* Good general level of education
* Full Driving Licence
* Experience working in a similar role carrying out some general maintenance tasks.
*Ability to work effectively on own initiative with minimum supervision and as part of a wider team.
* Good level of general fitness and ability to lift and move furniture and equipment.
