The Role - Maintenance Fitter
My client, based in Bedfordshire are looking to recruit a Maintenance Fitter with an Electrical qualification and Mechanical skills to be responsible for safely and efficiently carrying out planned electrical and mechanical maintenance and repairs to the site and its equipment.

Responsibilities
Carry out planned electrical and mechanical maintenance as well as repairs to a variety of site equipment
Carry out planned repairs to equipment to maintain asset capacity and value
Respond to unplanned repairs and other requirements
Respond to plant breakdowns to ensure it is returned to production in a timely manner
Maintain a high level of housekeeping, keeping areas clean, tidy and hazard free
Support and train operatives to complete maintenance tasks
Be responsible for the plant assets that are entrusted to you i.e. vehicles, plant buildings and equipment
To monitor and ensure that all plant stoppages, breakdowns, and logs are documented correctly
The Right Person
The successful Maintenance Fitter be highly motivated with drive and enthusiasm and will have the following experience & attributes:-
Experienced Electrical and/or Mechanical Engineer with a minimum of a Technical NVQ or Equivalent qualification
Previous experience in a Heavy Plant environment (Quarry, Landfill, Waste & Recycling or Concrete)
