Project Manager - CRE

Excellent opportunity to work for a Tier 1 contractor working on HS2, supporting several new bridge installations.

Location: Birmingham

Salary: £70,000 - £75,000 basic + Car or Allowance + Package

Role:

The Resolute Group are working in partnership with a Tier 1 contractor who are working on a number of new bridges linked to HS2, be it new and replacement bridges over Rail, Road and Rivers.

This position focuses on the Rail bridge projects, being the CRE construction interface with Network Rail. As the Contractors Responsible Engineer (CRE) you will ensure the project's design and construction complies with current Network Rail standards, legislative requirements and specifications outlined in the designs.

Acting as the key stakeholder with Network Rail, working alongside the Project Manager who is delivering the scheme. Reporting into and supporting the Contractors Engineering Manager CEM for the project. Day-to-day duties will vary but could include:

  • Implement Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality controls.
  • Advise on day-to-day construction engineering activities to be in line with Network Rail standards.
  • Collaborate with the CEM, Project Manager, and other supporting functions
  • Provide construction technical support to the CEM and Project Manager.
  • Review and respond to Technical Queries and participate in reviews.
  • Liaise with the Project Planner and construction affiliates for project plans.
  • Review Network Rail Design Review Notes (DRNs) comments.
  • Monitor subcontractor performance and ensure compliance with Network Rail standards.

This role is site based in the West Midlands region 3-4 days a week on site with 1-2 days from home or as required by the programme. As you will be supporting 2-3 project managers your days will be different each week.

Required Experience:

  • Degree qualified - Civil Engineer or Structural is preferred
  • Signed off as a CRE with Network Rail - Construction as a minimum, Construction and Design would give you an added advantage.
  • Able to work in the West Midlands region 3-4 days a week, Lodgings can be provided if you live outside a commutable distance.
