Position: Purchasing Accountant
Location: Kilkenny
Salary: (Depending on Experience).

Elk Recruitment are currently recruiting for a full time experienced Purchasing Accountant.

This role is a finance and procurement role whereby the person must be able to operate in a trading environment sourcing products in the agri-food business and renewable fuel business working alongside/reporting to the Managing Director/Financial Controller


Responsibilities:

  • Management of a portfolio product range
  • Oversee creditor accounts across the group with responsibility for maintaining purchase contract balances and drawdowns
  • Actively monitor creditor accounts and ensure payments are processed within credit terms
  • Work alongside suppliers, logistics and sales
  • Agree appropriate pricing points to optimise revenue and margin performance
  • Assist Financial Controller in preparation of monthly management accounts including bank reconciliations and stocks

Requirements:

  • 3rd level Qualification in Finance/Accountancy/Supply Chain Management
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role preferably within the agri-food business sector
  • Strong financial analysis and negotiation skills
  • Recognising patterns in markets in terms of optimum buying opportunities
  • Ability to source new sellers of product relevant to the business portfolio
  • Strong level of commercial acumen
  • Good organisational skills
  • This person needs to be a self-starter with good problem-solving skills
  • Strong IT skills
  • Proven track record in delivering commercial results in a fast-moving environment
