Responsibilities

  • Technical ownership of the production of drawings, calculations, reports and design documents produced by self, or coordinating and reviewing work produced by others
  • Independently using appropriate design/analysis software including CAD
  • Analyse technical problems, assess the feasibility of proposed techniques and procedures and devise new approaches and alternative solutions
  • Solving engineering problems
  • Familiarity with design guides and standards
  • Knowledge of the designer's responsibilities under CDM
  • Attending site visits to review project constraints and the construction process
  • Developing fee proposals and project cost estimates
  • Maintaining and developing relationships with existing and prospective clients
