Senior Fire Engineer Job in London / Remote Working
Senior Fire Engineer job in London for an award-winning top consultancy, taking lead on Fire Engineering projects across mainly the South East. You will have the chance to lead from the front and work with other fire safety professionals in delivering fire-engineered solutions for residential, commercial and education clients across existing assets, refurb and new build schemes. The role offers a salary of up to £100,000 + Bonus + Remote Working (office based minimum one day per week) + Progression.
The multidisciplinary practice is award-winning and specialises in commercial, healthcare, education, industrial, retail, mixed-use and residential. Offering a multitude of services in Architecture, BIM, M&E, Engineering, Surveying, Project Management, Health & Safety and Fire Safety Consultancy. Made up of 6 offices and 350 staff, they are ranked in the top 50 of consultancies in the UK. This role will report direct into Partner level and you will be play a key part in the further training and development of other team members, offering excellent progression opportunities as the team expands.
Role & Responsibilities
- Managing Fire Engineering projects across all RIBA stages in line with the FIA Scope of Works
- Ensure compliance with UK regulations and industry standards
- Keep up to date with national and local fire safety codes and standards and ensuring that all fire protection systems and procedures meet regulatory requirements
- Retrospective fire strategies
- Undertake regular inspections and reporting, providing recommendations to clients for improvements or upgrades
- Aid in the development of the Fire consultancy services, including assisting with marketing and networking
- Support in the training and development of the team
- Signing off of certain reports when required i.e. PAS9980
- Assisting other team members in relation to Fire Engineering element of projects
- Liasing with Local Authorities, Building Safety Regulator, Construction Professionals, Architects, Local Fire Services, and Design Teams
- Communicate with all stakeholders and leading design teams as required to successfully manage complex projects from inception to completion.
Required Skills & Experience
- CEng or IEng is essential
- Full member of MIFIREE
- Currently on a Fire Risk Register
- 5+ years' experience as a Fire Engineer
- In-depth knowledge of Fire Safety Codes including BS991, BS9999, RRFSO, PAS79, PASS9980, BS 7974 and approved Document B
- The ability to mentor and manage other team members
- UK Driving Licence and own vehicle.
