Key Responsibilities

We are very excited to be growing our consultancy services and are looking for a Senior Sustainability and Carbon Consultant to join our fantastic team!

In this role, you will undertake the delivery of carbon and sustainability commissions at a project level throughout the project lifecycle on a variety of different building project types and sizes, with different and challenging problems to solve. They will have responsibility for successful delivery of commissions and display collaborative behaviours. They will support our internal and external clients across the UK at several different levels, from the data capture and understanding of carbon emission drivers and provide pro-active advice, modelling, support and challenge at all stages of the project lifecycle, to drive low carbon solutions.

You will provide Subject Matter Expertise in the fields of Whole Life Carbon Assessment, low carbon strategies and solutions and facilitate (directly or through third parties) accreditation against industry standard schemes (BREEAM, WELL,Passivhaus, etc) You will have the opportunity to use your experience and expertise to work acrossKier Group sustainability teams, regional construction businesses and external clients to develop market leading service propositions that deliver evidence based low carbon design options, both in terms of embodied and operational carbon.

This is a great chance to make a real difference, working closely with both private and public sector clients, our regional construction businesses, professional colleagues and other design disciplines to deliver high quality and timely advice as a key contributor to multidisciplinary design projects.

What do we need from you?

Ideally you will hold a relevant Degree (or equivalent higher education qualification) plus significant experience demonstrating appropriate ability to fulfil the role. A higher degree or demonstrable post-graduate training and qualifications in low carbon subject matter would also be advantageous.

You will be able to work in team environments, to tight timescales and within budgets with minimal supervision, you will be technically competent with demonstrable knowledge and experience in your discipline and an understanding of current sustainability and low carbon agendas, initiatives and methodologies. Knowledge of Building Regulations, Health and Safety, Quality Management and CDM regulations also desirable. If this sounds like the ideal job for you, then please apply!
