Surface Treatments Tanker Driver (April - August)

£11.23 Per hour + Bonus/Overtime

Kier Surface Treatments Business is looking to recruit a Tanker driver, who will report to the site Foreman. The successful post holder will be expected to work in Norfolk or Suffolk as part of a team to ensure safety of site, self and colleagues, quality of work and production. The surface dressing season is expected to last for approximately 20 weeks.

The role has a particular focus on surface treatments on the UK highway network.

The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking tanker spraying as directed using codes of practice and in compliance with Kier policies and all health & safety regulations and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Behave at all times in a manner that is befitting of a Kier employee and that you do not act in a manner which may bring the Company, the Client or its agents into disrepute
  • Be flexible and carry out duties required of you, for which you are trained and considered competent
  • Establish good working relationships with Foreman, Agent/Supervisor and other work colleagues
  • Take ownership and communicate any issues on site
  • Carry out your responsibilities in an efficient and safe manner
  • Whilst driving/operating vehicles or plant, ensure all daily checks are carried out and recorded. Ensure that whilst driving you do so in a safe and courteous manner and within legal requirements at all times
  • Working to ensure we provide a high quality cost effective service to our Client
  • Produce quality work and maximum financial return in a safe and professional manner
  • Recognise opportunities to reduce costs and improve margins through innovations or working smarter
  • Maintaining written and electronic spray records
Key Skills and Competencies

Essential

  • A reasonable level of education
  • Have reasonable written and numerical skills
  • Full UK Drivers Licence Category C
Desirable

  • Experience in Surface Treatments or Highway Maintenance Industry
  • Sector Scheme 12d Qualifications (T1/2)
  • Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card - Blue - Skilled Worker
  • First Aid certificate
  • Holder of CAT C+E driving licence
  • Previous tanker driver roles
