Job Title: Van Sales & Merchandising Representative - FMCG Business

Location: Dublin

Our client is an award winning Irish family owned business supplying Sauces to the both the Retail and Foodservice industries throughout Ireland. With depots in Dublin, Cork, and Longford, they are now looking to recruit an experienced Van Sales & Merchandising Representative to cover existing routes, new customers and cover holiday periods.

The principal responsibility is to ensure that customers continue to receive the highest standards of customer service in terms of sales and merchandising, as well as identifying and acquiring new business opportunities for the business.

This is a full time position and it is necessary that overnights will be required on occasions, when covering outside Dublin, so an ideal candidate may be located close to Dublin for ease of commute.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Implement and maintain a high standard of customer service at all times.
  • To have a working knowledge of company products and their features and be aware of multi-channel selling options.
  • Collect data and provide report feedback to commercial managers.
  • To ensure that orders are delivered in a timely fashion thereby meeting customers' requirements i.e. on time, in good condition and with good customer service.
  • Promoting all company products to both new and existing clients.
  • Developing new business leads within the specified sales territory.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, H&S legislation and driving legislation.
  • Any Ad hoc duties that may be required to ensure smooth operations of the business.

The Candidate

  • At least three years' experience within a similar working environment
  • Must have experience in direct sales to stores.
  • Must possess a full clean B driving licence
  • Must possess a track record and proven sales / merchandising experience
  • Must be PC literate, with Word, Excel and PowerPoint application and Handheld skills an advantage.
  • Good communication skills. project management & reporting skills.
  • Creativity & ability to work off own initiative as well as part of a team
  • Ability to work under pressure, with excellent time management skills
  • Flexibility is required to work outside of normal hours to suit the requirements of the business
