We're looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join our North West Utilities Team for our Yorkshire Water and Severn Trent contracts. Working from home but visiting sites in Leek, Worksop, Branton and Scunthorpe. Within this role, you can enjoy working on some high value complex civil projects essential for the local communities they serve.



Location: within travel distance to Leek and Scunthorpe - remote working available, with occasional travel to the office and site required

Contract: Permanent, Full Time - flexible and part-time hours may be available if desired, just let us know



Responsibilities

As a Quantity Surveyor, you'll be working within the North West Utility team, supporting them in managing works on schemes between £5m-£10m in value on both clean and dirty water treatment plants.


Your day to day will include:

  • Assisting with the control of costs, maximising value, minimising future liabilities and maintaining the required standard of quality and safety
  • Working within the project teams liaising with the Commercial Lead, Project Engineers, Procurement Coordinators, Planners, Site Team Leaders and Site Managers.
  • Assisting in improving cost efficiency and creating an environment of out-performance.
  • Procurement of subcontractors in line with our commercial standards, ensuring best value for Kier and our client
  • Accurate monthly and quarterly forecasting


What are we looking for?

This role of Quantity Surveyor is great for you if:

  • You hold a degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying
  • Experience working with complex civil projects within utilities.
